Chris Cuomo Warns CNN Analyst Over “Illegal Aliens” Terminology

Former CNN host Chris Cuomo took aim at political analyst Scott Jennings on Wednesday over his use of the term “illegal aliens.” Cuomo argued that continuing to use the phrase could provoke violence and called Jennings out for acting like a “tough guy.”

The clash stems from a recent CNN panel where activist Cameron Kasky criticized the term, saying, “you don’t get to say the word illegals anymore.” Jennings refused to stop using it and challenged Kasky, asking, “How are you going to enforce your edict on me?”

Cuomo, in a video posted on social media, grew increasingly animated, saying the word “illegal” was replaced with “undocumented” years ago because the original term seemed dehumanizing. “Be careful. You wanna be a tough guy, there are plenty of tough guys out there,” Cuomo warned, suggesting that using the phrase could put Jennings at risk of assault.

He added, “Don’t be a tough guy,” highlighting what he sees as the broader consequences of language that can inflame tension in society. Cuomo’s remarks sparked discussion online about media responsibility, respectful terminology, and the potential real-world impact of words used in political discourse.
