Colin Kaepernick Sells Tribeca Condo for $2.82 Million

Colin Kaepernick has sold his Tribeca condo for $2.82 million, down from his 2016 purchase price, following years of activism and a high-profile NFL career.

Colin Kaepernick, the former NFL quarterback turned civil rights activist and entrepreneur, has sold his Tribeca condo for $2.82 million, according to property records obtained by Gimme Shelter. The sale marks the end of ownership of a home he purchased shortly before making national headlines for kneeling during the national anthem in protest of racial injustice.

Details of the sale

Kaepernick bought the two- to three-bedroom condo at One York in 2016 for $3.21 million. The property, designed by renowned Mexican architect Enrique Norton, was listed for $2.99 million before the sale closed at $2.82 million.

The 1,733-square-foot condo features:

  • A main bedroom with an ensuite bath and custom closets
  • A living/dining area and chef’s kitchen with glass cabinetry
  • A home office that could serve as a third bedroom
  • 9.5-foot ceilings, large windows, and wide-plank oak floors

Additional perks include a temperature-controlled storage unit and a parking spot valued at around $250,000.

Building and neighborhood amenities

One York residents enjoy a range of luxury amenities:

  • Rooftop heated pool and sundeck
  • Automated parking garage, the first in the city
  • Proximity to downtown Tribeca attractions

Past and present residents of the building include hockey star Derick Brassard, rapper and tech investor Nas, and writer Emily Stone.

Kaepernick’s personal context

The sale comes as Kaepernick continues to maintain a high profile in activism and sports. After six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, including a 2013 Super Bowl appearance, Kaepernick became a free agent in 2017. He has not played in the NFL since, citing blacklisting over his protests, a claim he settled with the league in 2019.

Kaepernick and his wife, radio and TV host Nessa Diab, share a daughter born in 2022. The couple had kept their marriage private until August 2025.

Real estate agents

The property was listed by Howard Hanna Elegran Real Estate agents Trevor Connolly, Kendall Estevez, and Kirk Eckenrode. The buyer’s broker was Patrick Li of Serhant.

“All parties are happy. It’s a fantastic downtown condo,” Eckenrode said, summarizing the sale.
