Davido responds to his 2026 Grammy loss with a message of faith, sharing heartfelt photos and gratitude as fans rally behind him.
Afrobeats superstar Davido has finally spoken out following his Grammy loss at the 68th edition of the awards held in Los Angeles. In a message filled with faith and resilience, the singer affirmed that God remains on his side despite the disappointment.
Sharing photos of himself and his wife at the ceremony on Instagram, Davido ended the post with a praying emoji and musical symbols. He wrote simply: “Oluwa Dey my side.”
Davido was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category at the 2026 Grammy Awards, which took place on Sunday night at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. The award ultimately went to South African star Tyla, who won with her hit song “Push 2 Start.”
Tyla’s win came against tough competition from Burna Boy (“Love”), Ayra Starr and Wizkid (“Gimme Dat”), Davido (“With You” featuring Omah Lay), and Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin (“Hope & Love”). This marks Tyla’s second Grammy, following her first in 2024 for the global smash hit “Water.”
Despite the loss, Davido’s fans have flooded social media with messages of support, expressing pride in his achievements and congratulating him for representing Afrobeats on the global stage.
