MAGA Podcaster Tim Pool Turns on Trump After Second Fatal Federal Shooting

Right-wing podcaster Tim Pool is breaking with Donald Trump after the fatal shooting of ICU nurse Alex Jeffrey Pretti, calling the situation a “civil war” and branding the president “weak.”

Pretti, a 37-year-old U.S. citizen with no criminal record, was shot dead by a Border Patrol agent in Minneapolis during protests over Trump’s immigration crackdown. Federal officials claim officers fired “defensively,” but bystander videos appear to show Pretti holding a phone, not a gun. Pool publicly questioned the administration’s version of events, writing that Pretti may have been disarmed before he was shot.

“This is a chain of events in a greater conflict,” Pool said, adding, “I don’t see Trump winning this one.” He later compared Trump to James Buchanan, the president often blamed for failing to prevent the Civil War.

While Pool labeled Pretti a “radicalized leftist,” he rejected claims from Trump officials that Pretti was trying to “massacre law enforcement.” “I don’t believe this for two seconds,” he wrote.

Pool also reacted angrily to Attorney General Pam Bondi’s letter to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz requesting access to voter rolls after the shooting, sharing posts that framed the move as political coercion.

In a final appeal, Pool urged Trump to personally intervene. “Trump should go to Minneapolis and force the whole thing to shut down,” he said. “No more fighting. No more partisan conflict.”
