Melinda French Gates’ Epstein Comments Go Viral After DOJ File Release

A resurfaced 2022 Melinda French Gates interview about Bill Gates’ meetings with Jeffrey Epstein goes viral following the DOJ’s massive release of Epstein files.

A 2022 interview in which Melinda French Gates spoke candidly about Jeffrey Epstein and her discomfort with Bill Gates’ interactions with him has resurfaced and gone viral after the U.S. Department of Justice released millions of Epstein-related documents.

Clips from her CBS Mornings conversation with Gayle King — shared on Threads by @danisha_e and @tim.watson.threads — have pulled in more than 1.2 million combined views in just days, reigniting public interest in the Gates’ past connections to Epstein.

In the resurfaced interview, Melinda French Gates made her feelings clear:
“I did not like that he [Bill Gates] had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein… I made that clear to him.”

She also described the single time she met Epstein herself:
“He was abhorrent. He was evil personified. I had nightmares about it afterwards.”

The renewed attention comes as the DOJ released over 3 million pages, 180,000 images, and 2,000 videos tied to the Epstein investigation — the largest official disclosure to date under last year’s transparency law. Among the documents were unverified claims Epstein made about Bill Gates, which Gates’ representatives dismissed as “absolutely absurd and completely false.”

Melinda and Bill Gates divorced in 2021 after 27 years of marriage. In the interview, King asked whether Bill’s connection to Epstein played a role in the split. Melinda responded that “it’s not one thing; it was many things,” but reaffirmed she strongly objected to the meetings and expressed deep sympathy for Epstein’s victims.

As the newly released files circulate online, her two-year-old comments have taken on renewed relevance, drawing fresh scrutiny to one of the most high-profile figures tied to the wider Epstein network.
