A mass shooting at the Riverfront Live music venue in Cincinnati early Sunday morning, March 1, 2026, has left nine people injured and raised serious questions regarding security protocols at the popular East End establishment.
- The Incident: Gunfire erupted inside the venue at 4343 Kellogg Avenue around 1:00 a.m. while it was hosting a birthday party for a local DJ. Surveillance footage from nearby businesses captured the moment hundreds of panicked attendees fled into the street.
- Casualties: Cincinnati police confirmed that nine people were shot. All victims were transported to local hospitals, including University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospital. Authorities stated their injuries are not considered life-threatening, and all are expected to recover.
- Investigation: Interim Police Chief Adam Hennie noted that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public. However, as of Sunday morning, no suspect descriptions have been released and no arrests have been made.
- Security Concerns: Families of the victims expressed outrage over how firearms were allowed inside the 16-and-over venue. One victim’s mother, Antoinette Coates, questioned the lack of effective screening, noting that “carelessness could have cost my son his life.”
- Eyewitness Account: One witness described a physical altercation involving four to five people that preceded the shooting. Shortly after one person was knocked unconscious, “three dudes came from the back and shoot the club up” before fleeing.
