Poll Sparks Outrage: Majority of Republicans ‘Back Fascist Race War,’ Conservative Says

Jonathan Last warns most Trump supporters are not being duped—they actively back extreme immigration policies. With senior officials endorsing sweeping deportations and racialized messaging, Last calls it a threat to U.S. societal cohesion.

Conservative commentator Jonathan Last is issuing a warning that should make every American sit up: the majority of President Donald Trump’s supporters are not misled or naive—they fully embrace his most aggressive immigration policies. This comes as outrage continues over ICE’s killing of U.S. citizen Renee Nicole Good and as the administration presses ahead with sweeping deportation plans.

Two kinds of Trump voters

Last cuts straight to the core: there are two kinds of Trump voters.

The dupes — those who believed Trump’s campaign promise to deport 20 million immigrants, supposedly all criminals. Last points out the impossibility: the entire U.S. prison population is under 2 million.

The true believers — voters who knew the first group was being misled but supported the hardline deportation agenda anyway.

“Some Trump voters were duped owing to their general ignorance and/or innumeracy,” Last said. “But others signed up for Trump because of his second promise and viewed the first promise as the pap necessary to get the suckers onboard.”

Polls show overwhelming support

National polling paints a grim picture for critics of the Trump base:

  • An AP/NORC poll shows 80% of Republicans consistently backing Trump’s immigration agenda.
  • A YouGov poll, conducted after the ICE killing of Renee Good, found 80% of Republicans still approving ICE’s actions.

“At best, one in five Trump voters were duped,” Last noted. “The vast majority are getting exactly what they signed up for.”

High-level officials driving the agenda

The alignment between the base and the administration is clear. High-ranking officials—Vice President JD Vance, Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem—occupy key posts while backing extreme policies.

One policy stands out: the DHS “100 million deportations” plan. Last explains the sheer absurdity:

“There are 43 million foreign-born Americans. Most of them are legal immigrants. To carry out 100 million deportations, DHS would have to round up every immigrant and also abduct 57 million U.S.-born citizens.”

Cultural and racial messaging

It isn’t just policy—it’s propaganda. Last warns that administration messaging emphasizes white American identity, fertility, and cultural supremacy, echoing historical authoritarian tactics. DHS posts promoting slogans like “To remember who you are” drew stark comparisons to Nazi-era propaganda.

“It’s uncomfortable to say the U.S. government is flirting with ethnic cleansing. But the reality is chilling: a masked secret police force going door-to-door targeting brown communities, a government openly fantasizing about deporting 100 million people, and agencies idealizing 20-year-old white male workers,” Last said.

Conclusion

Jonathan Last paints a stark warning: Trump’s base overwhelmingly supports extreme immigration policies, and the administration is following through. Coupled with senior officials’ rhetoric and racialized messaging, Last says this trend represents a serious threat to the cohesion of American society.
