The search for Nathan Smith, the 27-year-old son of rapper Lil Jon, intensified on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, as police focused their efforts on a lake near his family home. Smith, a professional musician who performs as DJ Young Slade, has not been seen since he reportedly “ran out of his house” in Milton, Georgia, around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3.
Authorities have classified Smith as a missing person who may be “disoriented and in need of assistance.”
The Current Search: “Mayfield Lake” Investigation
By Wednesday afternoon, the Milton Police Department and local news helicopters observed significant activity near Mayfield Lake, which is located adjacent to the Baldwin Drive area where Smith was last seen.
- No Phone, On Foot: Police confirmed that Smith left his residence without his mobile phone and on foot. Some local reports from Rough Draft Atlanta noted he was possibly carrying no personal belongings at the time of his disappearance.
- Aviation & Dive Teams: NewsChopper 2 flew over the neighborhood on Wednesday morning, documenting officers focusing their search around the lake and surrounding wooded areas. As of 4:00 PM local time, no definitive clues or physical evidence have been recovered.
- Cancelled Appearances: Following the disappearance, Lil Jon cancelled a scheduled appearance on the TmrO Sessions livestream Tuesday night, citing “unforeseen circumstances.”

The Milton Police Department has released a detailed description of Smith and is urging residents in the North Fulton County area to check their doorbell cameras and outbuildings.
