Seth Moulton Clashes With Sean Hannity in Fiery Fox News Exchange Over ICE Conduct

Representative Seth Moulton sparked intense debate during a tense appearance on Fox News’ Hannity, where he sharply criticized the Trump administration and the recent behavior of ICE agents. The exchange aired Friday, January 30, and quickly spread online as viewers reacted to the heated back-and-forth.

Host Sean Hannity opened by defending ICE agents amid nationwide protests following the killings of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti by federal officers. He argued that ICE officers are “arresting the worst of the worst” and making communities safer. Moulton agreed their job is difficult but drew a firm line when it came to accountability. He said that hardship is not a justification for ignoring the law and urged that agents act with professionalism, comparing it to the standards he faced while serving as a Marine in Iraq.

As Hannity attempted to interrupt, Moulton continued pushing back, saying that military service under combat conditions was “a little tougher than that,” a remark that triggered immediate reactions online.

Clips of the interview circulated on X, where viewers split sharply along political lines. Supporters praised Moulton for refusing to back down, pointing to his military record and academic achievements. Critics of Hannity accused the host of deflecting from concerns about ICE accountability.

Others strongly defended Hannity and criticized Moulton, arguing that ICE is simply enforcing long-standing laws and that agents are being unfairly targeted. Some commenters accused the congressman of disrespecting law enforcement and misrepresenting ICE’s work.

The exchange comes amid more than 300 anti-ICE demonstrations across the country. The protests were sparked not only by the deaths of Good and Pretti in Minneapolis, but also the death of Geraldo Campos in a Texas detention facility and the shooting of Keith Porter Jr. by an off-duty ICE agent in Los Angeles. The growing unrest has placed federal immigration enforcement under intense national scrutiny.
