The U.S. mixed doubles curling duo, Korey Dropkin and Cory Thiesse, got an unexpected surprise mid-match at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics on Friday, Feb. 6 — a visit from Snoop Dogg.
Thiesse first noticed that the rapper was wearing a custom jacket featuring pictures of her and Dropkin. When Dropkin saw Snoop smiling and wrapping an arm around his mom in the stands, he couldn’t believe it. “I’m not sure my mom even knew Snoop before this — but she definitely does now,” he joked to NBC Sports.
Snoop Dogg has become a recurring presence at recent Olympics. Named Team USA’s first honorary coach by the U.S. Olympic Committee, he returned to NBC’s Olympic coverage this year after his crowd-pleasing appearances during the 2024 Paris Games. NBC announced that his segments at the Winter Games will include exploring northern Italy, mingling with athletes, and joining host Mike Tirico for special features.
Before the opening ceremony, Snoop carried the Olympic torch through Milan and hung out with the U.S. figure skating team, including gold medal favorite Ilia Malinin. Later, at the curling venue in Cortina, he was spotted learning the sport from Team USA curlers Daniel Casper and Tabitha Peterson Lovick, chatting with fans, and taking photos with other American athletes.
Dropkin and Thiesse capped off the memorable day with two more wins — against Canada and Czechia — moving to 4–0 in round-robin play at the Games.
