Starmer Declines Full Endorsement of Trump’s $1B ‘Board of Peace’

UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer stopped short of committing Britain to Donald Trump’s new “Board of Peace,” citing concerns over the $1 billion membership cost and legal uncertainties. Speaking at Downing Street, Starmer said Britain is “talking to allies” about participation but gave no firm endorsement, stressing support for the Middle East ceasefire and phase two of Trump’s peace plan for Gaza.

The initiative, which lists Trump as chair and includes former UK PM Tony Blair, also reportedly invited Russian President Vladimir Putin. British officials are reportedly wary of the US President building a rival to the UN.
