Patriots Star Stefon Diggs Arrested After Alleged Assault on Personal Chef, Court Documents Say

Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been arrested following allegations that he assaulted a personal chef inside his Massachusetts mansion, according to court documents that have shocked the NFL world.

Diggs, 32, was charged with strangulation or suffocation after the woman claimed he slapped and choked her during a dispute on December 2 at his $2.5 million home in Dedham, outside Boston. The allegations were detailed in a police report obtained by authorities.

The woman — who had worked for Diggs — reportedly told investigators the confrontation began as an argument over money and escalated into violence. She first reported the alleged incident on December 16 and moved forward with pressing charges on December 23. She has since stopped working for the NFL star.

Diggs, who signed a three-year, $69 million contract with New England and is dating rapper Cardi B, has strongly denied the accusations.

“Stefon Diggs categorically denies these allegations. They are unsubstantiated, uncorroborated, and were never investigated — because they did not occur,” attorney David Meier said in a statement, calling the case the product of an unresolved financial dispute.

Another member of Diggs’ legal team asked a Massachusetts judge to impound the police report and acknowledged that discussions were underway about a potential financial settlement.

“As we speak, they’re working to come to an agreement on that,” attorney Michael DiStefano told local reporters. A judge said a decision on the matter would come “shortly.”

Diggs is scheduled to be arraigned on January 23 — just two days before the AFC Championship Game — although the court is also considering a request to delay the arraignment until March.

The Patriots organization issued brief support, saying, “We support Stefon,” while the team prepares for the playoffs. New England currently leads the AFC East and remains in contention for the conference’s top seed.

The allegations arrive during a turbulent period for Diggs off the field. He previously drew attention after being filmed over the summer passing around a pink powder on a boat, and he is also facing a separate civil complaint alleging sexual battery and other claims — which he has countersued as defamatory.

Diggs, now in his 11th NFL season, has played for the Vikings, Bills, Texans, and Patriots during his career and remains one of the league’s most high-profile receivers.

The investigation continues, and no further court details have been released.
