Teen Accused of Gunning Down His Parents Day After Christmas — Massive Manhunt Ends in Shocking Arrest

An 18-year-old Pennsylvania teen was arrested after allegedly shooting both parents, killing his mother, and triggering a massive multi-state manhunt.

A quiet Pennsylvania community was shattered the day after Christmas when an 18-year-old allegedly opened fire on his parents — killing his mother and seriously injuring his father — before fleeing into the woods.

Authorities say Jarrod Noll, 18, sparked a frantic, multi-state manhunt after the shooting outside the family’s New Freeport home on Friday afternoon.

Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene — just north of the West Virginia border — where they found both parents suffering from gunshot wounds.

Noll’s mother, whose name has not yet been released, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead. His father was hospitalized and has since been released in stable condition, according to officials.

Adding to the heartbreak, younger siblings were inside the home during the incident. Authorities say they are now staying with relatives.

A Massive Search — “Armed and Dangerous”

After the shooting, Noll allegedly fled on foot, disappearing into rugged terrain. Police launched a full-scale search using helicopters, tracking dogs, and ground teams.

“When you have someone on the run with a homicide warrant and a gun, it’s a huge danger to the community,”
— Sgt. Richard Sizer, Pennsylvania State Police

Despite the intense search, the teen initially slipped away.

On Saturday, authorities located Noll in West Virginia, where he was taken into custody without incident. He will remain jailed there until he is extradited back to Pennsylvania.

Noll now faces homicide and attempted homicide charges, police said.

As investigators work to uncover what led to the tragic shooting, the tight-knit community is left stunned — and grieving — over a nightmare that unfolded during what should have been a peaceful holiday week.
