President Donald Trump called for former CNN anchor Don Lemon to face a 40-year prison sentence after attending an anti-ICE protest at a St. Paul church over the weekend. Trump compared Lemon’s participation to abortion clinic protests that received long sentences under the FACE Act, suggesting the same punishment should apply.
The protest comes amid rising tension in Minneapolis following the fatal shooting of Renee Good, 37, by an ICE officer during a neighborhood raid. Lemon’s involvement has drawn backlash from MAGA supporters, which Trump amplified, while free speech advocates argue attending protests is constitutionally protected. No charges have been filed against Lemon.
