The longtime Wheel of Fortune star, 68, announced that she has married her partner, real estate developer John Donaldson, after more than a decade together. The couple shared the news on Instagram on January 21, posting a photo from their private ceremony.
“Surprise! We got married!” White wrote. She added that she and Donaldson had been in love for many years and recently decided to make their relationship official in an intimate celebration. “We’re excited to share this new, joyful chapter in our lives with all of you,” she said.
White and Donaldson first met in 2012 after being introduced by a mutual friend at one of her barbecues. In past interviews, White has said she felt an instant connection and that their relationship worked because of their shared personalities and easygoing dynamic.
For years, the couple openly expressed that they already felt married despite never formally tying the knot. White previously explained that they were comfortable with their relationship as it was and did not feel pressured to marry.
Both White and Donaldson have been married before. White was previously married to restaurateur George Santo Pietro, with whom she shares two adult children.
The newlyweds have not shared further details about the ceremony, but fans and colleagues flooded social media with congratulatory messages following the announcement.
