Wyoming Rep. Harriet Hageman Walks Out of Town Hall Amid Minnesota Shooting Questions

Rep. Harriet Hageman abruptly ended her town hall at Casper College after constituents pressed her on recent federal agent killings in Minnesota, drawing boos and jeers.

Wyoming Republican Rep. Harriet Hageman faced a hostile crowd Tuesday evening at Casper College, abruptly walking out of her own town hall after students pressed her on the recent killings of two Americans by federal agents in Minnesota.

The confrontation began when a student asked Hageman about the deaths, part of President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown. “I haven’t talked about that,” Hageman replied, citing her focus on the Laken Riley Act, legislation recently passed in Congress. The audience responded with boos and jeers.

“Why haven’t you said that you condemn the violence or given condolences to the families of the victims?” the student asked, prompting further discomfort for the congresswoman. Hageman acknowledged the deaths as “a terrible tragedy,” but did not offer detailed condemnation.

Another student, Allyse Taylor, pressed Hageman on potential constitutional violations linked to federal officers’ actions in Minnesota, including directives allowing entry into homes without judicial warrants. Hageman suggested that any alleged violations would require investigation and “redress,” but the audience reacted with mockery and frustration.

“Then why is there no redress?” Taylor asked. “They are killing American citizens in the streets, and you are doing nothing. You are not saying a single solitary thing to support constituents or to support the American people.”

Moments later, Hageman gathered her materials and left through a side door. Audience members shouted words like “Coward” and “Chickens” as she exited.

The event highlights growing tension for Hageman, who recently launched a GOP Senate bid, as voters demand accountability and clear stances from their representatives on controversial federal actions.
